28.8 million people used the Facebook iPhone app in the last month.
That’s about a third of the 75+ million iPhone and iPod touch devices that have been shipped so far — a huge percentage of phones. Most super-successful iPhone apps only have a fraction of Facebook’s users.
That also represents about 7% of Facebook’s roughly 400 million users.
63% of mobile web consumption is performed on Apple’s iPhone.
Still, Google’s Android OS is starting to gain share after a couple years of lagging far behind Apple. Google’s share increased about 8% in February 2010 to 15.2% of the market and has nearly doubled in the past year. Apple’s share decreased 3.2% from January to February.
26,985 books are currently available as apps in the iPhone App Store. This is the first time the number of books available has exceeded the number of games (25,348).
Of course, this is far less than Amazon and Sony, which both offer over 400,000 e-books in their stores. (Though, to be sure, all Amazon Kindle apps are available to iPhone owners via the Kindle app, though Apple does not receive a revenue share on those sales.)

According to the FCC, about 93 million Americans don’t use fast, broadband Internet, citing cost and complexity as a factor.
The study found that 80 million adults and 13 million children either still use dial-up or don’t use the Internet at all at home.
78 percent of adults are Internet users, whether that means broadband, dial-up, access from home or access from someplace other than home.
74 percent of adults have access at home
67 percent of U.S. households contain a broadband user who accesses the service at home.
65 percent of adults are broadband adopters. The discrepancy of two percentage points between household and individual home use is because some survey respon- dents are nonbroadband users but live with someone who, at home, is.
6 percent of Americans use dial-up Internet connections as their main form of home access.
6 percent are Internet users but do not use it from home; they access the Internet from places such as work, the library or community centers.
